Good morning,
Psalm 19:7-11 is referring to the word of God. Law of the Lord, testimony of the Lord, statutes of the Lord, and commandments of the Lord, all refer to God’s word. Each description of God’s word comes with a corresponding action.
Verse 10 tells us how we should regard God’s word. Verse 11 is a warning to obey God’s word.
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
What does God’s word mean to you? Is it just another book? Irrelevant for today? Or is it your standard for living? Obeying it because you know that God’s wisdom is above all else.
Choose wisely.
