Senior Food Box

The Senior Food Box Give-away Program

Food boxes are available to seniors sixty years of age and older, as well as children who have reached five years of age (and are no longer eligible for the WIC program) until the age of six.

The Food Bank of Alaska has a federally-funded program where applicants must be approved to receive these boxes. Applications for food boxes may be submitted to the Wasilla Senior Center. Once applications are approved, boxes may be picked up one time each month.

Senior volunteers staff the Food Box distribution program the second and third Friday of each month from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The application for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is not available online due to the fact that individuals are directed to fill out the application at the site where they plan on picking up their monthly box. The applications are approved at the site level and then sent to Food Bank of Alaska (FBA) for processing.

It is important to follow this process as applications that are sent directly to FBA by clients are returned to them and they are directed to their nearest CSFP agency, which creates a delay in processing.

If you have any questions about filling out CSFP applications Please Contact Wasilla Area Seniors at (907) 376-3104 ext 8658
